West Ham to make shock £25m bid for Serie A goal-machine
West Ham are readying a £25m bid for Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi according to Goal.com.
Hammers boss Bilic has seen his side struggle this term and loaned in forward Simone Zaza is yet to deliver the goods whilst injury prone attacker Andy Carroll is some way from recovery and as such interest in a new attacking option is unsurprising.
23-year-old South American Icardi has fallen out with Inter Milan’s Ultras following comments made by the player in his recent biography and the club’s fanatical fans want the Serie A side to offload their recently appointed club captain.
On the playing side Icardi continues to impress, netting six goals in nine Serie A starts this term, and could perhaps be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
West Ham have scored just ten goals in nine Premier League matches, with their top scorer coming in the form of wide-man Mikhail Antonio.
Icardi has racked up an impressive total of 53 goals in 96 Italian league appearances since leaving Sampdoria for Milan in the summer of 2013.
