West Brom's Twitter account trolls local rivals Aston Villa
You can’t beat football rivalry and despite not being in the Premier League anymore, Aston Villa received a dig on social media by their neighbours on Monday night.
It was a special night at the Hawthorns and the West Brom social media team weren’t logging off without getting one up on their local rivals Aston Villa.
The Baggies put on a show for their supporters as they blew Burnley off the park in a comfortable 4-0 win.
Goals from Matthew Philips, James Morrison, Darren Fletcher and Salomon Rondon brought West Brom up to 9th in the Premier League table, and after the game the club’s official Twitter account fired shots at their Midlands rivals.
Villa were relegated from the Premier League last season, and currently find themselves 16th in the Championship.
West Brom took advantage of the situation by posting the following on social media:
Albion put four past a team in claret & blue for the second time this season. Where are Aston Villa when you need them?
Award-winning Aston Villa blog My Old Man Said didn’t take the tweet too kindly.
