VIDEO: Goalkeeper in A-League stops match to rescue seagull hit by football
Sydney FC goalkeeper Danny Vukovic is used to making saves on a regular basis for his side.
However, on Wednesday the 31-year-old made a save of a different sort as he halted Syndey’s game with Melbourne to rescue a seagull who had fallen onto the pitch after being hit by the football.
The pause came midway through the second half of the game, when Vukovic signalled to the referee that the seagull was hit and in-pain on the pitch.
After then being told he could move the injured bird, Vukovic scooped it up and he placed it down on the sideline before giving it a couple of friendly pets on the back.
It didn’t take long for Vukovic’s kind gesture to trend on social media with many big accounts uploading the kind act on to Twitter and Instagram.
The bird also got his own Twitter account too and someone wrote this hilarious tweet stating that everything is ok.
