VIDEO: Everton boss Ronald Koeman admits he's interested in Man United attackerPublished November 17, 2016
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that he’s interested in signing Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay in the January transfer window. The out-of-favour winger hasn’t started a Premier League game this season and has played less than 90 minutes at Old Trafford since Jose Mourinho took over.
Everton have been keen on taking the winger on loan for the rest of the season. With United willing to let him leave, it looks like a possible move. The Toffees fuelled speculation by mentioning his exploits for Holland during the international break. Depay scored two goals, including a free-kick, in their 3-1 win over Luxembourg in World Cup Qualifying.
Despite the damage that the United stint has done to his reputation, Ronald Koeman remains a Memphis admirer. He’s spoken about his efforts to woo the striker before and mentioned it again at his press conference today. Confessing that he would like to sign Depay, he said: “If there is any possibility, of course I am interested. I was interested when I was the manager of Southampton.”
