Udinese captain loses plot and injures three teammates
Don’t get on Danilo Larangeira’s bad side whatever you do…
Serie A outlet Udinese demand an apology from Brazilian captain Larangeira after he lost the run of himself during a training session and left three of his teammates injured.
“We expect the player to issue an apology, that is the absolute minimum,” Udinese sporting director Nereo Bonato said.
Reports in Italy suggest Danilo, the fiery defender, saw himself in the middle of a series of crunching tackles that left Iraqi international Ali Adnan, Venezuelan forward Adalberto Penaranda and Francesco Lodi all requiring treatment.
Tensions raised and altercations soon followed prompting Udinese manager Gigi Del Neri to send Danilo for an early shower to cool down.
There have been suggestions that Danilo will not only receive a fine but also stripped of captaincy.
Bonato added: “Before we can take any other action we want to understand what caused this inexplicable behaviour.”
However, this is not the first time Danilo, who joined Udinese from Palmeiras in 2011, has courted controversy. After being accused of racism while playing in the Brazilian top flight, he admitted publicly he had insulted and spat at Atletico Paranaense defender Manoel.
Danilo also fought with teammate Michele Pazienza in the tunnel leading to the dressing room four years ago.
