Twitter reacts to Manchester United and Chelsea flop’s sublime Champions League doublePublished February 22, 2017
Manchester City and Monaco played out a thrilling 5-3 game in the Champions League last-16 last night, and much of the focus on social media centred on Radamel Falcao’s cathartic double at the Etihad.
The Manchester United and Chelsea flop had been just about written off by Premier League supporters following his torrid time in English football, but returned to haunt former neighbours City in the gripping clash.
First, he equalised Raheem Sterling’s opener with a diving header, then he scored a delightful individual goal to put Monaco 3-2 up on the night.
City eventually roared back to claim a thrilling 5-3 victory, however, Falcao still took most of the plaudits online for his brilliant return to north-west England.
Here’s the best of the social media reaction to his performance.
