An amateur footballer is on the run from Mexican Police after killing a referee during a game in Hidalgo State on Sunday morning.
According to reports, the tragic incident at the Amigos del Balon pitch in Tulancingo city is said to have been sparked by the sending off of the footballer in question, with the suspect then fleeing before officers could arrive on the scene.
The Criterion Hidalgo writes that Paramedics present at the game attempted to resuscitate the victim, Victor Trejo, as Ruben Rivera Vazquez made a getaway in his pick-up truck.

Trejo died shortly after suffering ‘widespread subarachnoid hematoma’, caused by the strike to the head.
The search is now on for Ribera Vazquez, with local sources suggesting that a large group of officers has been tasked with hunting down the perpetrator as he looks to escape law enforcement.
