Tottenham in talks to sign £20m Bayern Munich starPublished July 10, 2016
Tottenham are set to challenge Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze according to the Daily Telegraph.
The 24-year-old has struggled to retain a foothold in the Bayern Munich first-team set-up and may well feel his chances will not improve under new boss Carlo Ancelotti and as such a move to the Premier League may tempt the World Cup winner.
Gotze made just 11 Bundesliga starts last term and is now being pursued by a host of sides with this source claiming the player’s representatives have already held talks with Spurs.
Tottenham fought hard with Leicester City for the Premier League title until their bid for major silverware faded in the final weeks of the campaign. That said, Pochettino did secure a Champions League return and the Argentine is likely be handed a significant transfer budget this summer.
The North London side have a number of exciting young prospects making a real impact with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli sure to continue their respective meteoric rises in 2016/17.
