Tottenham plot cut-price move for Premier League contract rebel
Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a cut-price swoop for Everton’s contract rebel Ross Barkley this summer, per the Daily Star.
Barkley, 23, has failed to agree a new deal at Goodison park despite being given an ultimatum to sign or be solf by Toffees boss Ronald Koeman.
His current contract expires next summer, and Spurs, who have positioned themselves as his main suitors, are hopeful he will be available at a reasonable price.
Having signed Davy Klaasen from Ajax already, Everton continue to be linked with Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson so are by no means desperate to keep Barkley.
Ross Barkley only created four fewer chances than Eden Hazard last season. Crazy stat. There's a player in there you know...— Sean Lunt (@Sean_Lunt) 26 June 2017
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the England international, but it is unclear whether either of them will pay the £25million asking price for Barkley.
Many Everton fans have urged Barkley to stay because they believe he will play more at their club than under Mauricio Pochettino next term
