Spurs fans have taken to social media, bemused by the club’s apparent interest in Crystal Place winger Wilfred Zaha.

The North London side have gone about their transfer business in an efficient manner, having so far signed the likes of Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen, with both players having an immediate impact, as Spurs have gone unbeaten in their first two Premier League games.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his desire to add some more players to his ranks, before the end of the summer transfer window, and it looks like one particular transfer is gathering pace.

According to widespread reports Pochettino, is keen on signing Palace winger Wilfred Zaha, with the North London club already lodging a bid in the region of £12m, which Palace rejected.

It’s understood that Zaha, is extremely keen on a move to White Hart Lane, and met with Eagles boss Alan Pardew, in the wake of Spurs’ interest to ask for a transfer away from Selhurst Park.

Whilst we wait and see how this transfer story develops, it seems as though Spurs fans are a bit confused as to why the club are bidding for the former Man United flop.

Maybe Mauricio Pochettino knows something we don’t?

Take a look at some of the Tweets below.

@spurredontv average played might as well have kept Townsend, all Zaha does is step overs with no end product

@spurredontv What happened to all the good players we were linked with? Would really be a step backward if we sign Zaha. Ambition needed.

@spurredontv not good enough. Wouldn't improve first team or squad so why bother
