Thomas Meunier eyeing eventual Premier League transfer
Thomas Meunier has revealed that he would like to play in the Premier League, and that he is a Manchester United fan.
Draw both parallels together and you have the beginning of a transfer saga. Well, as far as the media is concerned anyway.
Meunier, a right-back that spent the majority of his senior career at Club Brugge, signed for Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
The 25-year-old has not been a guaranteed starter for PSG, but still managed to appear 15 times in Ligue 1 while creating 18 scoring chances. That’s quite a feat for a defensive player.
Despite stating that he is happy in Paris, Meunier dreams of a move to the Premier League.
Meunier told DH: “I’ve always said that one day, I would like to play in the Premier League.
“I’m very happy in Paris and if I finish my career there, it won’t be a disappointment, far from it. But, if one day, I had to leave Paris, why not?
“On the other side of the Channel, there are the stadiums, the fans, and I’ve never hidden that I’m a big fan of Manchester United, which remains, in my eyes, the real reference in the world of football.”
Do United need a new right back? According to Jose Mourinho, they already have the best in the world.
