Tottenham enter race for Newacastle's Moussa Sissoko, swap deal consideredPublished August 24, 2016
It looks as though Tottenham Hotspur aren’t quite finished doing business during this summer’s transfer window.
The North London side are notorious for their late transfer dealings, with chairman Daniel Levy, always looking for a last minute bargain buy.
Over the weekend, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, confirmed that the club were still open for business and would look to bring in some new faces this month.
Reports coming out of the British press claim that one man Spurs are targeting is Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The Frenchman impressed many during Euro 2016, and his performances had led to apparent interest from many of Europe’s top clubs. But as of yet a move has failed to materialise, despite the 27-year-old’s public come and get me plea.
According to the Mirror, Sissoko may be about to get his wish, as Spurs are seriously considering making an approach for the player.
The report claims that the North London side are considering using want-away midfielder Nabil Bentaleb as a makeweight in any potential deal, something which Newcastle could be open to.
Whilst we wait and see how this transfer story progresses, we are sure that Moussa Sissoko will be doing all he can to engineer a move away from St James’ Park this month.
