The most dramatic transfer of deadline day was no doubt Moussa Sissoko’s move to Tottenham.

If you thought the move was a straightforward one, think again.

Moussa Sissoko has made it clear all summer that he wanted to leave Newcastle after their relegation to the Championship last season. But, with just hours remaining of the transfer window, Sissoko was still a Newcastle player.

After Everton bid £30 million for the Frenchman, it seemed as though the midfielder would be moving to Merseyside. However, with just one hour remaining, Spurs matched Everton’s bid and Sissoko made a dramatic U-turn.

Ronald Koeman and his side thought that Sissoko was on the verge of joining Goodison Park but, it seems Sissoko tried his best to back out of a potential move to Everton by failing to answer phone calls from the Everton boss, or any club officials.

Hours later, the Frenchman completed his £30m move to White Hart Lane.

It’s safe to say fans on Merseyside weren’t too happy with Moussa Sissoko.

Take a look at some of the Tweets from some angry Evertonians below.

How Sissoko treat a club like Everton is a joke like. And a guy like Koeman, but that's what he's like. We're both best off without him.

Musa Sissoko would have been a better player at Everton where he'll get more playing time than Spurs

The Sissoko saga tells you everything you need to know about that player and his agent. Wouldn't want a mercenary like that at #Everton

Personally I think we've dodged a bullet with Sissoko, overrated snake
