Riyad Mahrez issues come get me plea to 'two or three clubs' - Are Arsenal included?Published August 17, 2016
Riyad Mahrez has admitted he could leave Leicester if “two or three” of the world’s leading clubs come calling.
Last season’s PFA Player of the Year has attracted interest from many of Europe’s leading clubs, with reports suggesting that the Algerian playmaker may still depart the King Power before the end of the summer transfer window.
Leicester are keen to keep hold of their talisman, but after the player’s recent revelation it seems like the 25-year-old is looking for a move away from the club before the end of August.
We at Free Bets look at the possible three clubs Riyad Mahrez has his sights set on this summer.
Chelsea are understood to be showing interest in Mahrez and speculation over a move began to circulate when the 25-year-old was spotted at the same hotel as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Whilst the player himself has rubbished such speculation, it would be no surprise to see the West London side step up their interest in the player in the coming weeks.
Arsenal have been constantly linked with a move for the player, but reports of a recently rejected bid appear to be wide of the mark.
The player himself has spoken glowingly about Arsenal in the past, and the Gunners could make a bid, should they first solve their current defensive crisis.
Mahrez earlier this year admitted his desire to one day play for Barca, claiming that “every player dreams of playing with Lionel Messi.”
It’s of course no surprise that a player of his calibre would want to play for Barcelona, but despite apparent interest, there has been no real approach from the La Liga giants.
