Report: Wayne Rooney set for sensational Premier League switch
According to The Sun, Wayne Rooney is on the brink of making a sensational return to Everton, with the Manchester United captain expected to move to Goodison Park.
The England international is tipped to earn £250,000 per week and join Ronald Koeman’s rejuvenated side.
Rooney, 31, will see his 13-year star at Old Trafford come to an end, while the same paper suggests that Koeman could pair him with Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
The news broke last night when reporter Neil Custis posted the following tweet:

GONE by end of the week.
It is believed that if Romelu Lukaku departs Everton, the Toffees will reportedly make a £20 million move for Giroud, who has seemingly been replaced by Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette underwent a medical at the Emirates on Tuesday ahead of a club-record £52 million move, while Arsenal now want to add Monaco star Thomas Lemar to their squad as well.
Meanwhile, Leicester City are increasingly braced for an offer from Arsenal for Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian winger has already made publicly made it clear he could leave this summer after revealing his dream to play in the Champions League, with Arsenal odds-on favourites to clinch his signature should he depart — despite missing out on the top four last season.
