Report: Liverpool enter talks to sign World Cup winner
According to the Mirror, Liverpool have entered talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign Mario Gotze.
The German attacking midfielder returned to Borussia Dortmund last summer after a stint with Bayern Munich, but has failed to secure a place in Thomas Tuchel’s starting eleven.
The Mirror suggest Gotze is yet again looking for a way out of Dortmund with Liverpool touted as his most likely destination.
Similar to Shinji Kagawa, who left Klopp’s Dortmund for Manchester United, Gotze’s career never really kicked on after leaving the Ruhr club.
A fresh start elsewhere under Klopp may be the best solution to get his career back on track.
Having a World Cup winner in that Liverpool squad may be the boost it needs to help Klopp deliver some silverware at Anfield.
