Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid Combined XI

This Saturday, Madrid Rivals, Real and Atletico face off in the Champions League final, in a repeat of the classic encounter from 2014, which saw Los Blancos claim the famous ‘La Decima’.

Whilst this weekend offers Real a chance to add yet another piece of silverware to their huge trophy cabinet, for Diego Simeone’s side this represents so much more than revenge, as the club looks to get their hands on their first ever European title.

Whilst some may consider Real as the favourites due to their experience in winning this competition, Atletico have proved over the last couple of years that they are now a major force to be reckoned with both in Spain and in European competition.

If there was any lingering doubt over Atleti’s credentials, then their two-legged victories against both Bayern Munich and Barcelona, should have been enough to silence any critics.

It is Atletico who hold the upper hand against their Galactico neighbours this season, with one win and one draw during the La Liga campaign, and Los Colchoneros will be confident that they have a team capable of beating their Madrid rivals.

In the build up to this unpredictable match, we have decided to name our Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid combined XI.

Only four Real players make it into our starting line-up, and controversially there is no room for French striker Karim Benzema, who loses out to teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas can also consider himself unfortunate to miss out.

Check out the combined XI below.
