Real Madrid star moves closer to exit after furious rant at Zidane
James Rodriguez moved a step closer to the Premier League after his reaction to being taken off during Real Madrid’s latest win.
The winger called Zinedine Zidane a ‘mother*****r’, and didn’t bother to acknowledge his manager – in another example that the relations between the player and his manager have broken down.
Zidane did try and dampen the speculation, claiming players react like that when they just want to play – but the blatant disrespect won’t have gone down well behind the scenes.
He said: “I have not spoken with him, it is normal that a player wants to play the full 90 minutes.
“These are things that happen and that’s it. He played well and I am pleased with that.
“I don’t have anything against James, quite the opposite.
“It is true that he isn’t on the pitch as much, but he is offensive and works hard.”
Should James chose to leave Real, there won’t be a shortage of clubs who are after him, with his talent and commercial offerings a huge draw for top sides.
Premier League clubs have often been linked with the player, and with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Man City all looking for forward re-enforcements this summer – not to mention Arsenal possibly trying to replace Alexis Sanchez, there could well be a big money move for James on the cards.
