Real Madrid star Isco was desperate for deadline day move to Tottenham, La Liga giants blocked the transferPublished September 1, 2016
It appears as though Tottenham Hotspur came extremely close to pulling of a real deadline day coup.
The North London side were busy on Wednesday, completing the signings of Marseille winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Espanyol keeper Pau Lopez on a season-long loan, and of course the late late signing of Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, after gazumping Everton with a final hour bid.
Whilst Spurs fans will be reasonably happy with the club’s transfer business this summer, there is a feeling amonst some fans in North London, that they missed the opportunity to add a real big name marquee signing to their squad, with Champions League football on the horizon this season.
But it appears as though that marquee signing came mightily close to being done.
It’s well known that Spurs were extremely keen on bringing Real Madrid midfielder Isco to White Hart Lane on a season long loan, with the North London club feeling positive that a deal could be done.
Whilst Tottenham pursued a deal for the Spaniard during the last week of the transfer window, a deal failed to materialise, with reports suggesting the 24-year-old declined a move to the Premier League.
But the latest report coming out of social media suggests otherwise.
It appears as though Isco, was desperate for a move to White Hart Lane, only to be told by Real, that he would not be allowed to leave this summer.
The player is supposedly now angry with Madrid officials for refusing to let him leave the club this summer, and is allegedly actively seeking to agree a move away from the club in January.
