Real Madrid president denies talks with Manchester United over superstar
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says there is no deal in place to sell striker Alvaro Morata to Manchester United, per Sky.
Morata, 24, has been linked with United all summer, with Jose Mourinho believed to see him as the ideal man to replace recently released Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The pair worked together in Madrid before Morata was sold to Juventus, and upon his return last summer, he has still struggled for regular first team football.
While Perez admitted his agents may be discussing the possibility of a summer move, he stopped short of saying the Red Devils were in the driving seat.
“I believe we are not negotiating with Manchester United, which does not mean that there are not people around him who are talking, which is normal,” Perez said.
“I have read that we have reached an agreement for I don’t know how many million Euros, but it is not true.”
