Real Madrid & Manchester United in talks to complete exciting swap deal involving two WORLD-CLASS talents
It’s a case of déjà vu for Manchester United and José Mourinho as Real Madrid are in the hunt, once again, for goalkeeper David de Gea. A deal which fell through in the final hours of last summer’s transfer window has been reopened as Real Madrid are pursuing the Spanish goalkeeper.
The Mirror reported that United have retaliated with a move of their own. Mourinho has been an admirer of Toni Kroos, and demanding Real Madrid include the midfielder in any future talks. The Special One sees him as a great fit for United, partnering up with Paul Pogba in the middle of the pitch.
The Red Devils are set to place a heavy price tag on De Gea, requiring Los Blancos to splash a minimum of £60 million.
It’s been a busy summer for United, who added more depth to their squad with striker Romelu Lukaku. Madrid recently sent midfielder, James Rodríguez to Bayern Munich and less likely to allow Kroos to leave the Santiago Bernabéu. Los Merengues still have Keylor Navas in net, who helped the club retain the Champions League last season, and win La Liga over rivals Barcelona.
The two clubs will meet on Sunday, July 23, in Santa Clara, California for the International Champions Cup. The summer transfer window continues to heat up, and both Zinedine Zidane and Mourinho will get to see how their targets look once again as they face off on the pitch.
