Ozil's agent makes shocking bullying claims
Mesut Ozil looks increasingly unhappy at Arsenal, and now the club are enjoying their annual collapse, the player’s agent has spoken out.
Ozil has come in for more flack than most recently, and it seems that his agent feels he’s being ‘bullied’ at the north London side, and should be given more time and support from the board, fans and Arsene Wenger.
Dr Erkut Sogut claimed when speaking to BBC Sport: “Criticism is normal if a player plays badly.
“But Mesut feels people are not focusing on his performance; they are using him as a scapegoat for the team after bad results.
“Bayern had 74% possession. How can someone in the No.10 position create chances if you don’t have the ball?”
Of course, it’s hard to see anyone even blaming Arsenal fans for wondering if Ozil is worth £300,000 per week – or if they even want to keep him.
Too often the player goes missing in big games, and tends to blame everyone but himself – and while the effort Alexis Sanchez puts in is telling, Ozil is often pictured standing there as the ball goes past him and Arsenal inevitably concede a goal.
After these comments from his agent, it wouldn’t be a shock if Ozil decided to move on in the summer – and frankly, he’s not done too much to convince Arsenal fans or anyone else that he’s worth keeping in recent games.
