One of Barcelona's biggest players set to miss at least four months with injury
Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele is set to miss up to four months through injury after the club confirmed the recent reports.
Dembele had signed for the Catalan giants in a deal that could reach £135million and was hoped to be the replacement for the outbound Neymar Jr.
Neymar moved to Paris Saint Germain after his €222million release clause was triggered and has already begun impressing both in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League.
Though, his replacement Ousmane Dembele has not enjoyed a successful start at Barcelona and is not looking at another start for that matter for at least another three months.
The Frenchman had struggled with fitness ahead of the move to La Liga due to going on strike at Borussia Dortmund in an attempt to force through a dream move to Barcelona but it has backfired massively.
His lack of fitness has meant that his performances as of yet have not been up to the standard required to dominate at the Camp Nou and now he has been dealt another blow.
His injury against Getafe is clear to be an issue with his lack of fitness but he will now be looking at a lot longer off the pitch after he ruptured tendon of the femoral biceps of the left thigh.
It is said that the player will have surgery this week but that will still rule the player out for at least three months which could well reach around four months on the sideline.
Dembele will certainly be disappointed with his Barcelona career getting off to a slow start but will now be looking to get back on the pitch soon and start proving his humongous price tag.
