New Drogba: Chelsea fans praise Michy Batshuayi after 2 goals v Bristol Rovers [Tweets]Published August 24, 2016
It seems like a new hero has emerged at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea fans took to social media on Tuesday night to wax lyrical over striker Michy Batshuayi, after the Belgian scored a brace during the club’s 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup.
The 22-year-old, who signed for £33m from Marseille this summer, earned his place in last night’s starting XI, with a game changing substitute appearance against Watford on Saturday, and the striker repaid Blues boss Antonio Conte with two goals on his first start for the club.
Batshuayi, took his tally to three goals in three games courtesy of two smart finishes, with the bright Ruben Loftus-Cheek involved in the build-up to both.
After the match, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to praise their new hero.
Could the Blues have found the next Didier Drogba?
Chelsea fans certainly hope so.
