Mesut Ozil set to sign blockbuster new contract at ArsenalPublished September 28, 2016
Arsenal fans, the wait is almost over.
According to reports in Germany, The Gunners are close to an agreement with Mesut Ozil over a mega money new contract.
The Germany playmaker Ozil has two years left on their current deals with the Gunners, where he currently earns a measly £140,000-a-week.
Talks were opened in May about extensions to keep their talisman at the Emirates, but negotiations were then put on hold because the duo were on international duty during the summer.
But according to German paper Bild, the 27-year-old has agreed a “lucrative” new long term deal to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.
As part of the deal, the playmaker will receive the number 10 shirt. He currently wears the number 11.
Whilst we are unsure of the contract length or the financials at this present time, Ozil’s new deal could see him earning close to £200,000-a-week.
A heavy price worth paying to keep one of your most coveted assets.
