Manchester United striker claims they're eyeing revenge in the FA Cup against Chelsea
When Manchester United drew Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter finals and had to face a trip to Stamford Bridge, a fair few subplots emerged.
Not only will the victor get a place in the FA Cup semi finals, but one side will get one over on their rivals – and in the case of Manchester United, it would be revenge for a pasting earlier in the season.
Oh, and there’s the small matter of Jose Mourinho returning to his former club as well.
Mourinho himself may have played that down, focusing on the fixture pile up they have, but according to Marcus Rashford, revenge is on his mind.
He was asked about potential revenge, and said: “Yeah, definitely.
“They’ve got one over us.
“I think we’ve just got to take it game by game. We’re on a good run of form and so are they, so I think it’ll be a good game but we’ll go there confident and to win the game.”
To win would be huge for both United and Mourinho, and with the Red Devils in scintillating form at the minute, you wouldn’t bet against them.
United are fighting on four fronts, while Chelsea have basically secured the Premier League title – something Mourinho made very clear when speaking to the press.
However, if you ask the United fans and players, they’d probably tell you it’s better to face a fixture pile up than no fixtures at all.
