Manchester United set to go to war with Tottenham over star player
Manchester United are keen to land Eric Dier this summer, and are willing to spend £40 million on him.
The midfielder would be part of the rebuilding programme that Mourinho is determined to get underway at the club, and will revamp the whole side, from defence to attack.
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Spurs will sell the player – or even that the midfielder will want to go to a club like Man United, who are some way behind Spurs, not to mention leave Dele Alli.
Spurs have a legitimate shot at the title next season, and have been the ones who have pushed Chelsea all the way this time round, and bar their collapse at the end of last season, they could have managed to pip Leicester to the post to boot.
Dier does struggle at times to get into the Spurs side, but knows that they are in better shape than United. However, the lure of a club so big, and one that is managed by Jose Mourinho may tip the scales in their favour.
Not only that, but should United manage to get into the Champions League, it will strengthen their summer plans even further.
