Manchester United prepare move for £76m Premier League pair: Jose Mourinho scouts top talents
The Old Trafford side have had an up and down time of it this term and Mourinho’s defence has certainly been shaky and as such Mourinho’s interest in right-back Coleman isn’t surprising.
Italian international Matteo Darmian is said to be set for a move back to Serie A, with both Inter Milan and Torino said to be interested, and thus far this term Luis Antonio Valencia has done a solid, if not spectacular, job in the role.
The Sunday People claim Man United are ready to offer £16m for 27-year-old Irishman Coleman, a fairly low offer in today’s inflated transfer market. Remember Manchester City paid a massive £50m for Coleman’s Toffees team-mate John Stones over the summer.
Coleman has been a steady performer at Goodison Park ever since his move to the club back in 2009 and Everton have impressed under new boss Ronald Koeman, but the former Sligo Rovers man would surely still be tempted by a move to Manchester United.
Mourinho is also scouting 23-year-old Belgian star Romelu Lukaku though any move for the former Chelsea man would certainly cost a great deal more than the valuation placed on Coleman.
Indeed Chelsea are said to have failed with a £60m bid for Lukaku over the summer and it may well take an offer in excess of that sum to persuade the Merseyside outfit to sell.
Mourinho may see Lukaku as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and such an addition could help form a superb young front three with the Everton man potentially flanked by Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Lukaku moved to Everton in 2014, after an initial loan spell, and the burly forward has racked up 66 goals in 134 appearances for the Toffees.
