Manchester United to offload nine first-team stars as Jose Mourinho conducts squad re-shufflePublished July 12, 2016
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to offload nine players as he sets about re-shuffling his Old Trafford squad according to Goal.com.
Mourinho has spent big to bring in Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and as such there will be financial constraints leading to the departure of players the ‘Special One’ feels he can do without. Also factor in the ongoing speculation of an apparently imminent £100m+ bid for Juventus star Paul Pogba and the likelihood of a clearout increases significantly.
The most high profile members of the nine players on their way out come in the form of Juan Mata, said to be an Everton target, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay.
The Dutch winger will certainly struggle to get a foot hold in Mourinho’s starting eleven and certainly did not impress in his debut campaign at the club.=’
Defender Marcos Rojo, versatile Dutchman Daley Blind, youngster Adnan Januzaj as well as Guillermo Varela and Tyler Blackett are all also seen as surplus to requirements.
Perhaps surprisingly Marouane Fellaini isn’t on this list of exit bound players, Mourinho seemingly seeing the Belgian as a player who can deliver the goods.
