Manchester United and Manchester City set for transfer war over Real Madrid starPublished September 29, 2016
It looks like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are set to go head to head in a bid to sign a Real Madrid star.
The transfer window may only have been shut a matter of weeks, but that doesn’t mean clubs have stopped planning for any future deals, and reports coming out of Spain suggest that both Manchester City and Manchester United are both trying to sign Madrid’s German World Cup winner Toni Kroos.
According to Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, both Manchester sides are desperate to sign the 26-year-old in 2017, with bids of up to £45m, being touted as a potential transfer fee.
Throughout the summer there was widespread speculation that both Mourinho and Guardiola were keen on bringing the German midfielder to the Premier League, whilst it’s also believed that the player himself was keen on a move to England.
Where there have been many claims that Toni Kroos is very keen on playing in the Premier League, would Madrid actually sell one of their stars when they are in the middle of a transfer embargo?
