Manchester United confirm Paul Pogba medical: £93m deal set to be completedPublished August 7, 2016
Manchester United have confirmed that Paul Pogba is to undergo a medical with the club ahead of a big-money move to Old Trafford.
This is the first official confirmation from the Premier League side following weeks of speculation about the capture of the French international.
The Daily Telegraph state that Manchester United will pay £93m to Juventus as well as a sum to Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, as well as a number of ‘add-ons’ whilst the 23-year-old will secure a massive five-year contract worth around £250k a week.
The BBC have confirmed the fee will eclipse the current world-record transfer, which is currently the £86m paid by Real Madrid for Gareth Bale, and the capture will be Jose Mourinho’s fourth of the summer following the signings of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Manchester United have left the number six spot in their squad vacant and this has led to many assuming this was with a view to Paul Pogba taking the jersey and this is now looking increasingly likely.
Former boss Sir Alex Ferguson elected to allow Pogba to leave when his contract expired back in 2012 and the rangy midfielder has gone on to win four successive Serie A titles during his time in Turin and played a key role in the club’s run to the Champions League final in 2014/15.
