Manchester United to complete £30m Brazilian wonderkid signing within 48 hoursPublished August 17, 2016
Manchester United are closing on a deal to sign Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa, also known as Gabigol, with The Sun claiming that the Old Trafford side could snap up the teenager within the next 48 hours.
The 19-year-old forward is currently on international duty at the 2016 Olympic football tournament having also appeared for Brazil in the Copa America earlier this summer.
Jose Mourinho has spent upwards of £150m on the captures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly but seemingly the Man United boss is ready to dig deep to bring in a fifth summer addition.
Gabigol is certainly a player with a bright future and Mourinho may feel that the South American works as a good long-term prospect, with current starting central striking option Zlatan Ibrahimovic clearly not a player who will be a Man United player for more than a season or two.
Manchester United have exciting young striking talents to call upon with the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford impressing last term and Gabigol would be a very useful addition to the ranks.
Man United are ready to fork out £30m for the lethal finisher with Chelsea and Real Madrid also known to be of interest.
Gabigol has racked up over 50 goals for Santos and has netted twice thus far during the Rio Olympics.
