Manchester United, Chelsea, Monaco and the MASSIVE transfer twist
Manchester United, Chelsea and Monaco could well be involved in an amazing transfer triangle.
United are in the market for a holding midfielder, and it seems that both Fabinho and Nemanja Matic are on their radar. Matic has worked with Jose Mourinho before and wants to leave Chelsea after fearing for his future in terms of playing time, and Fabinho simply wants to move to a ‘bigger’ club.
That left United with what many thought was a choice, and it seemed that they had missed out on Fabhino and were swooping for Matic – yet that may no longer be the case.
The deal for Matic has stalled considerably, and it looks like Monaco are set to refuse to sell Fabinho to one of their rival sides domestically, ruling PSG out of the race.
Now, Fabinho is once again open to a move to United, and with the demands Antonio Conte and Chelsea are placing on United in terms of the fee for Matic and asking them to back off other mutual transfer targets – not to mention Matic being involved in Chelsea’s kit launch for their new Nike strip, it could be the case that Matic is left to either stay at Chelsea or find an alternative club.
That would mean United either have to move for Fabinho or worry about finding an alternative target, with Jose Mourinho thought to be fast losing patience in Ed Woodard this summer – much like his counterpart Antonio Conte, who has been unhappy for the majority of the summer according to the press, and wants to see some spending.
