Manchester United chase Serie A star as Griezmann alternative
Manchester United’s hunt for a striker this summer has sparked an interest in Torino’s Italian hotshot Andrea Belotti, per Metro.
The 23-year-old has risen to prominence this season, netting 19 times in Serie A and, according to the report, attracting interest from other European giants like Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been in fine form this season, scoring 15 goals, and is likely to sign a new one-year contract at the club, at 35 he is hardly a long-term option.
Belotti is likely to be a back-up option as Jose Mourinho looks to tie up a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann according to the report.
The Frenchman has been a long-term target for United and with an £86million buyout clause in his contract at the Vicente Calderon, Mourinho will aim to tie up another bumper deal to reunite him with international teammate Paul Pogba next season.
The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League and are in a battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
