Manchester United are the butt of all jokes on Twitter after CL draw [Tweets]

During Thursday’s draw for this season’s Champions League group stage, social media was at a frenzy, though lots of it had nothing to do with the actual draw itself.

Whilst Arsenal, Manchester City, Spurs and Leicester, were busy finding out their opponents in Europe, it seemed as though supporters on social media were more bothered about reminding Man United fans that the Old Trafford side will not be competing in this season’s European elite competition.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a long illustrious history in the Champions League, but will be saving their European exploits for Thursday night this season, as Jose Mourinho’s men compete in the Europa League.

Whilst this summer has been one of excitement and optimism for all around Old Trafford, it seems as though yesterday was an opportunity for rival fans to bring United supporters back down to earth.

Check out some of the comical Tweets below.
