The Old Trafford side are set to trigger the 25-year-old’s £86m release clause and have already agreed terms on a contract with the French international and have even gone as far as to promise the Euro 2016 star a squad number.
Such a move would see Griezmann line-up alongside his good-friend, and fellow countryman, Paul Pogba and would certainly offer Jose Mourinho a strong option up front and such a move could perhaps spell the end of Wayne Rooney’s role in the Man United starting eleven.
Griezmann has been a big hit since leaving Real Sociedad for the Spanish capital but could be ready to leave for pastures new with his Vicente Calderon side struggling to mount a La Liga title challenge this season.
Thus far this season Griezmann has managed a dozen goals in all competitions, some way below his efforts last term when he netted 32 times, and is a player who has been linked with a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’, his star rising ever higher following his exploits last summer when he finished as the top-scorer at the Euro 2016 finals.
Whilst the talk of Griezmann moving to Man United hits a fever pitch there are growing rumours about those who look set to leave Old Trafford.
Left-back Luke Shaw seems set to leave having fallen out with Jose Mourinho and the Independent claim Man United are now ready to listen to offers for the former Southampton man.
Dutch winger Memphis Depay is also looking likely to leave with a move to Ligue 1 side Lyon said to be just 48 hours away according to the Daily Mirror.
The former PSV Eindhoven man joined the Premier League side 18 months ago and has barely featured since Jose Mourinho took over last summer and may well be desperate to get his career back on track and a move to France may be the best for all concerned.
Another wide-man who looks set to leave is Ashley Young with the experienced England international courted by Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng according to The Sun.
The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Man United and a big money offer from the Far-East may tempt the former Aston Villa man, who is also being pursued by Premier League sides West Brom, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Watford.
