Manchester City want Spanish fullback in late January swoop
Manchester City are aiming for a late signing on Transfer Deadline Day, with Valencia fullback Jose Gaya on their radar according to the Daily Mirror.
Pep Guardiola has had a quiet January in terms of signings, with the only arrival Gabriel Jesus joining the squad from Palmeiras after a £27million deal was set up in the summer.
Pep Guardiola has struggled to live up to the hype surrounding his appointment this season, with City currently sitting outside the Champions League places and 12 points behind pace setters Chelsea.
He may seek to freshen his squad up ahead of the sprinf run-in and the Mirror report claims he could launch a £20million bid for Gaya with a matter of hours remaining before the window slams shut.
Gaya, 23, is very highly rated in Spain and could be on the lookout for a move away very soon, with Valencia struggling in the bottom half of LaLiga.
