Manchester City on red alert as Bundesliga star admits unhappiness
Manchester City could make a summer swoop for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich after the youngster admitted his frustration at his lack of game time under Carlo Ancelotti, per the Daily Star.
The 22-year-old has a great working relationship with City boss Pep Guardiola, having been given his debut for the German champions during the Spaniard’s spell in charge.
Guardiola rates Kimmich extremely highly and even claimed he has “absolutely everything” to become a world-class player.
But he has struggled to assert himself in Ancelotti’s plans since the Italian replaced Guardiola in the summer, playing just 42 minutes in the club’s last five games.
City are due for major squad surgery in the summer and Guardiola could target a reunion with Kimmich, who can also play in defence and has been touted as the long-term heir to retiring Philipp Lahm in the German national team.
