Manchester City-bound star rejected Chelsea to join Pep Guardiola
Dani Alves has rejected an offer from Chelsea in order to be reunited with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, per the Daily Mirror.
Alves, 34, looks set to join City from Juventus despite enjoying a great season in Turin, having joined from Barcelona on a free last summer.
The Brazilian was signed by Guardiola at the Camp Nou and worked together for four years in Spain.
The City boss is keen to bring in a number of reinforcements at fullback, with Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta both having been released at the end of last season.
Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand, Spurs’ Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy of Monaco are also under consideration at the Etihad Stadium, but Alves is the priority.

Chelsea had wanted to snare him, offering a better wage-packet than City, but his personal relationship with Guardiola appears to have been decisive.
