Man United fans won't believe what Jose Mourinho plans to do with Paul Pogba!

It’s official.

Jose Mourinho may well have lost the plot.

Hot off another soul crushing defeat, this time a 4-0 reverse at Chelsea, the Portuguese boss has come out with an entirely new way to use his new world record signing.

‘Paul Pogba is a top player and I think he could be a phenomenal central defender,’ Mourinho told Sky Sports.

‘With the quality of his pass, with his aerial game, with his agility in such a big body, for his defensive side of the game, coming from the back with the ball, he would be a phenomenal central defender, too.”

So, what can we take from this nugget of information?

Well it stinks of desperation or at best, a clever way to deflect attention away from his own failings since taking over at Man United.

To suggest that Paul Pogba could be used in a central defensive slot not only gives the impression that Mourinho isn’t happy with the way the former Juventus man has taken to life back in the Premier League, but it also says something about how much he rates his current central defensive options.

I’d imagine Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling, and the numerous back-up options to the first-choice pair, would see such comments and feel they are not exactly being backed by Mourinho.

Where will this all end! Could Mourinho be out on his ear in the near future or can he pull his team back in the right direction?

Jose Mourinho says Pogba can be a 'phenomenal centre-back'. 'In fact, he's playing there tonight, can't be any worse than Marcos Rojo.'
