Man City closing in on astounding £70m triple deal for world's best youngstersPublished July 28, 2016
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is gearing up to make a serious statement in this summer’s transfer market.
Despite completing the impressive signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan, and Spanish striker Nolito, the Eastlands side have so far been trumped by their Manchester rivals in terms of big money transfer signings.
But reports coming out of the press suggest that the former Barca boss is closing in on a triple deal for three of the hottest young talents in world football.
According to Sky Sports, the Blues are in talks to sign German striker Leroy Sane, Brazilian sensation Gabriel Jesus, and Colombian forward Marlos Moreno, for a combined fee of £70m.
Leroy Sane has been tracked by City for some time, and the player himself has publically revealed his desire to leave Schalke this summer, with reports claiming that City are ready to meet the Bundesliga side’s £40m valuation of the 20-year-old forward.
Marlos Moreno has been linked with a number of big European clubs including Barcelona, Manchester United, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, but it is believed that is City who are closing in on a £8m deal for striker.
Moreno has already won seven caps for Colombia and was a half-time substitute in his country’s Copa America Centenario semi-final defeat to Chile in June.
Gabriel Jesus’ arrival at the Etihad could be the most noteworthy, with the 19-year-old billed as the new Neymar in his homeland.
Real Madrid and City’s rivals Manchester United had been interested in signing the Brazillian sensation, but Pep Guardiola has reportedly managed to personally convince the player to sign at the Etihad, with Jesus’ club Palmeiras demanding a fee in excess of £20m.
Sky go on to claim that the deals for Jesus, and Moreno could be more complicated than the Sane transfer due to work permit issues, but City chiefs remain in talks with the clubs of both youngsters in order to try and make a deal happen.
Whilst Pep Guardiola has watched as his Premier League rivals have spent big this summer, the signings of Sane, Jesus and Moreno, would not only send out a title statement, but a warning to all of City’s rivals that Pep Guardiola’s notorious spell of domestic dominance is ready to begin once more in the Premier League.
