The Merseyside Club were tipped for big things this season, and got off to the perfect start with an away win at Arsenal last week, prompting claims from fans and pundits that this year could be their year.

But those rather bold predictions are now straight back on hold, following Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Burnley on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were lackluster from the off, conceding the first goal with just two minutes on the clock, as Liverpool’s defensive instability was once again on show.

It was in defence where the club needed to improve during the summer, but despite making some additions to his back-line, it is in attack where Klopp has spent the big money.
