Liverpool star set to rock club with transfer request to force through mega move
Liverpool are bracing themselves for a transfer request from star midfielder Philippe Coutinho as he looks to force through a move to Barcelona.
The Brazilian star has been the subject of intense speculation this summer with Liverpool fans bracing themselves for the worst and that looks like it is fast approaching if the latest reports are to be believed.
Barcelona are looking to seal a deal for Coutinho in the next few weeks as a possible replacement for Paris Saint Germain bound Neymar Jr who could leave the Camp Nou for Paris this week.
Though Liverpool have not looked likely to give in so easily and have this far refused any notion of selling the player, their hand may be forced this week with the player set to personally plead with manager Jurgen Klopp over a move.
The Mirror claim that Coutinho will outline his reasons to the German as to why he would like to move on from the club but will not look to leave through the back door as he has respect for the club.
That means that Barcelona must agree a deal through the right channels with Liverpool who are looking to earn close to £100m if they are to sell the attacking midfielder this summer.
The report also goes as far as naming who Liverpool want as Coutinho’s replacement and it has been a player that they have seemingly been tracking for a very long time in Christian Pulisic.
Borussia Dortmund’s American sensation has been linked with Liverpool for a number of transfer windows and a move could now be inevitable with the club set to receive a huge fee for Coutinho.
