Liverpool scout admits to watching Chelsea and Manchester United's top January transfer target in actionPublished September 15, 2016
It looks like we may be set for a major Premier League transfer tug of war come January.
According to Gremio president Romildo Bolzan, Brazilian star Luan will be sold when the transfer window reopens, to the highest bidder, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all reportedly keen on bringing the 23-year-old to the Premier League.
Bolzan said: “If any club makes a proposal, they must know he will only leave on our terms,” adds Bolzan. “I have an agreement with his representatives that he will be with us until December.”
Luan was one of the heroes for Brazil during their Olympic campaign which saw them win gold.
The striker’s performances had alerted the likes of Barcelona in the summer, but the La Liga giants decided to pursue other options.
It’s now understood that the forward could very well be England bound come January, with Liverpool’s South American chief scout Fernando Troiani confirming that there is indeed interest in the Gremio star, but as of yet there has been no official offer made by the Merseyside club for the gold medalist.
It’s understood that Man United and Chelsea are also keeping a close eye on Luan, and will look to battle Liverpool to claim the striker’s signature, with Gremio believed to be asking for a fee in the region of £25m for one of their most coveted assets.
The transfer window has only recently just shut, but it looks like England’s biggest clubs are already planning for the reopening of the window in January 2017.
