Liverpool join Premier League rivals in the race to sign Real Madrid star James RodriguezPublished August 24, 2016
Liverpool have become the latest Premier League club interested in signing Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez.
The Colombian midfielder’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu has been uncertain for some time, with the player becoming increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time under Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
The 25-year-old has indicated his willingness to leave the Spanish capital this month in order to play first team football, with the player coming to the realisation that he has no future at the club.
James Rodriguez’s situation has alerted the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, with both sides reportedly keen on stepping up their interest in the midfielder between now and the August 31st transfer deadline.
According to Spanish broadsheet Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have now also entered the race for the Colombian’s signature, and have enquired about his price tag, ahead of a possible bid for the player.
It’s believed that Madrid would want a fee in the region of £60m, a price which so far has been deemed to much by potential suitors.
We can’t wait to see how this transfer tug of war unfolds.
