Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to take a swipe at defender Mamadou Sakho, after it had been revealed that the Frenchman has been sent home from the club’s tour of the US due to his disruptive behaviour.

Sakho has flown back home to England after Reds boss Jurgen Klopp finally ran out of patience with the French defender’s attitude during their stay in Palo Alto, as Liverpool get ready for their first game of their US tour against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup on Thursday.

According to the Telegraph, the 26-year-old defender has infuriated his German coach on at least two occasions, with the defender turning up late for Liverpool’s flight to the United States, while last weekend he interrupted Klopp while the manager was conducting an interview with the club website.

Liverpool have declined to comment on the incident, other than to confirm that Sakho has returned home and will receive treatment at the club’s training base as he recovers from an Achilles injury.

It has been a rather eventful year for Sakho, who was recently cleared by UEFA over allegations of a failed drugs test.

Although the French defender received tons of supports from fans on Merseyside over his overturned drugs ban, it looks like supporters have now tuned on Sakho, after this latest incident.

It will be interesting to see if the Frenchman’s days at Anfield are now numbered.

Sakho's days look numbered.

Injury prone, erratic & unrealiable.

Sakho storms off before a derby? Brendan's fault. Sakho sent home by Klopp. Good show of strength, Jurgen.
