Are Daniel Sturridge’s days at Anfield numbered?

That seems to be the opinion of many Liverpool fans on social media, after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Fresh of bagging a brace against Burton in mid-week, the England international showed signs that he was ready to get back to his best.

But rather than sticking with his ‘in form’ striker, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp opted to leave Sturridge out of the starting XI in North London, preferring to take to the field with no recognised centre forward.

Even when the flamboyant German boss did call for back up off the bench, it was in the shape of Belgian striker Divock Origi, with Sturridge having to wait until the last few minutes of the match before being introduced off the bench.

There has been speculation about the 26-year-old’s future for quite sometime, with previous reports suggesting Jugen Klopp has lost patience with the talented yet injury prone striker.

Based on the reactions from Liverpool fans on Twitter, it seems like Daniel Sturrdge could really be heading for the Anfield exit door.

Take a look at some of the Tweets below.

Lots of wasted chances today. I hear that Sturridge bloke is pretty decent at taking chances though.

3 things:

1.We played well, underserved result.

2.Either sell Sturridge or play him - do not waste his obvious talent.

3.Sign a LB ASAP.

@LeeGunner82 you'd think its common sense. In the modern game you cant take passengers on a team. Why sturridge can't get in klopps team

Can see Sturridge and Origi being very frustrated this season. The last thing we need is our two best strikers not 100% firing #LFC

@little_football true but if I've to pick between klopp and sturridge there is only one winner. Sturridge 's injury record the main reason

Why the Klopp clock is now ticking for Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge #LFC

Is Sturridge pushing himself towards a #Liverpool exit? Is Klopp playing him out of position? Does Daniel deserve to be dropped? 08717223344
