Juventus boss involved in spat with star defender
If Massimilano Allegri and his players act this way when they’re winning, imagine what how they behave after a loss.
Tempers boiled over towards the end of Juventus’ 4-1 Serie A win over Palermo as Allegri and defender Leonardo Bonucci engaged in a heated argument.
The Juventus manager was overheard on camera calling Bonucci a ‘dickhead’ and reportedly told him to ‘fuck off’, while the defender questioned Allegri’s touchline instructions.
Juventus, who currently lead the Serie A, won on Friday night thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala, Claudio Marchisio, and Gonzalo Higuain.
But that wasn’t enough to prevent the Italian duo from bickering.
Bonucci reacted to a heated Allegri by telling his manager to “go to hell” before heading towards the tunnel without paying respect to the Juventus faithful.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Allegri played down what happened on the touchline in his post-match press conference.
“These things happen,” Allegri told the Italian media.
“I had three players who needed to be substituted because they had cramp. There was a misunderstanding, but it’s no issue, these things happen.
“Is Bonucci already studying to be a coach? It may well something he does in future, even if he still has do much to learn.”
Allegri, who we recently named as a candidate to replace Arsene Wenger, would offer something totally different at the Emirates. Especially considering Arsenal consists of a weak dressing room. He would promise a few slapped arses!
