Jose Mourinho ready to agree to £60 million swap deal with Real Madrid?
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to agree a deal that will see David De Gea join Real Madrid, and two of Madrid’s players come to Manchester.
Alvaro Morata and Raphael Varane are well known by Mourinho, who worked with the duo during his time at the La Liga side, and he sees the defence and strike force at United as something he needs to improve if they want to win major trophies and fight for the title.
De Gea meanwhile has made up his mind to leave for Madrid, and only has a deal that runs until 2019, meaning United want to captialise on him now, and not risk losing him for free or a reduced price later down the line.
Both Morata and Varane are unhappy with the amount they’ve played under Zidane this season, yet are thought to be major parts of the long term plans at the club, with Morata only being bought back to the club recently after a successful time at Juventus.
Mourinho meanwhile will not let De Gea leave unless he feels that United are at least bringing players into the club who can help them really push for the title next season – and with long term injuries to Rojo and Ibrahimovic, both Varane and Morata are players he is keen to bring in.
