Huge blow for Chelsea as their most vital asset won't commit to club
Chelsea fans have grown to love Antonio Conte, as the manager is not only set to win them the Premier League, but he’s bonded with them tenfold.
His passion, enthusiasm on the touchline and will to win has won them over, and he’s as loved if not more loved than Jose Mourinho was during his two spells at the club.
Now, it seems that despite being set to get the Premier League title, Conte is considering his future, and will not provide the club with assurances he won’t join Inter Milan at some point in the future.
He did make it clear that he does have a contract for the next two years, but as we know, anything can happen in football – and Conte is aware of that – plus, let’s be honest, the riches Inter now have.
He said: “I have a contract with Chelsea for the next two years.
“It’s logical when you start working in a new club the will is to continue to improve your work.
“For sure this is my will but now the most important thing is to reach our target. In this moment we have a great opportunity [that we] have worked very hard for over the whole season and it’s important to be ready to do this step and to celebrate together.
“I have a contract for two years but in this moment – for me and the players – the most important this is to stay in the money. The most important thing is not the single person, me or the future of the players.
“We must be focused on the next game to reach this fantastic moment. It’s normal to have a lot of speculation around my players and the coach but we can’t lost concentration. The moment is really important for us and I want to transfer this message.”
